Dr Karl is an ode to experimentation.
Utilising a step mash process to activate different enzymes within the grain to give that extra thick juicy haze!
And for the first time at RR, we are using both ‘Nelson Sauvin SubZero Hop Kief’ liquid dry addition & the passionfruit infused freeze dried ‘Kohia Nelson’ pellets, from our friends at Freestyle Hops. 275ml of the Nelson Sauvin SubZero Hop Kief equates to 5kg of T90 pellets!!! whilst the Kohia Nelson blend combines Motueka, Rakau and Taiheke hops with freeze dried New Zealand passionfruit incorporated into the pellets…yummy!
To top it off, we have thrown in the El Dorado ‘Salvo’ from our pals at Ellerslie & Hopsteiner. Salvo is a CO2 hop extract whose alpha acids are removed to ensure we get only flavour and aroma, without extra bitterness – perfect for hazy juice bombs!
The alpha acids may or may not have been removed by Dr Karl? Nobody knows!
And just for good measure, we’ve included another liquid dry hop; Spectrum, plus Lupomaxx hops from the legends at Barth Haas.
All the Doctor-ing of hops result in a delicious brew that pours with a golden body and medium to heavy haze, polished by a bold white head. Dr Karl boasts aromas of passionfruit, citrus and melon, which is all mirrored on the palate. Finishing up with a full bodied, medium level of bitterness.
