We have heard it takes a lot of beer to make great wine. In this instance maybe it is the other way around…It took a lot of great wine to make this beer!
Joining forces with the team from Swings, we have created an aromatic, hop forward and downright delicious Hazy IPA that is loaded with local Sauv Blanc juice.
Pouring with an opaque straw coloured body, aromas of pear, candied pineapple, white pepper and passionfruit spring from the glass. The mouthfeel is soft and lush but it’s lifted by prickly carbonation. White peach dominates the palate along with more tropical fruit, gooseberry and a herbaceous back note. It finishes dry with a well rounded bitterness that will keep you coming back for more!
This beer/wine hybrid is an awesome marriage of two worlds. Loaded with Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Idaho 7, we haven’t skimped on the hop component, though we were not so heavy handed that the lupulin additions overpower the awesome Sauv Blanc grape juice.
We are truly blessed to live in such an awesome wine region and to be able to bring hops, malt, yeast and grapes together with the respect for the terroir of our backyard is truly special. Cheers to beers, cheers to wines and cheers to good times!
