Tasting Notes
Pour: Burnished gold with a tight white head.
Smell: Pine resin and pineapple lead with bready malts laying a foundation.
Taste: Cracker like malts with pineapple and passionfruit mid palate.  Smooth and cleansing bitterness.
Finish: Crispeh.

For this limited edition series, our brewers have gone full Maverick with their experimentation. With plenty of room to manoeuvre, the results are one-off and ready for your taste buds. 

Lupo Fiasco | West Coast Pilsner | 5.7%

Experiment: Trialling dip hopping on a single batch.  We KO’d 150L to FV at 70*C and added hops.  Let sit for 15 mins then finished KO at 18*C.  Set temp down to 14*C and pitched yeast.  Also trialling YCH702 (Dynaboost) from Yakima Chief Hops

Brewers Diary: It ain’t no secret we’re quite fond of WC Pilsners around here. But, what is a WC Pilsner I hear you ask?  This is a modern take on a classic style, where we have taken a Pilsner base very similar to our core range Pils but beefed it up a touch.  We have then layered it with Citra, a great US hop that has been at the forefront of craft beer for years now. We managed to get hold of a new flowable hop product from Yakima Chief Hops that we dosed in the whirlpool, alongside some classic T90 Citra pellets as well.  We then pushed the experimentalism even further by adding some Citra Lupomaxx pellets as a dip hop addition.  This was done by sending 15% of our wort from the whirlpool to FV at 70*C and then throwing in the hops.  We allowed this to rest for 15 minutes and then finished transferring to FV at our fermentation temperature.  Using a lager yeast gives us the crispy finish we all know and love, et voila!

Result: Crispehhh! Smooth with a cleansing bitterness.
