Tis the season for fresh hops and we are keeping the good times rolling with Wet Spice, a collaboration with local growers South West Hops.
Pouring a rich copper red with a dense caramel coloured foam, spicy fresh hop aromas pop along with notes of mandarin and pine resin.
A sticky malt backbone provides rich biscuit along with light burnt sugar characteristics. The grist allows the fresh hops to express cut hay, pine and spicy citrus, while a medium bitter finish leaves palate coating resin.
Working with the team from South West Hops allowed us to get hops that had literally been picked 2 hours before going into the beer. The expression of fresh local hops is something we are honoured to showcase and we look forward to the next harvest to adopt new methods and brewing techniques to extract as much locally grown lupulin as possible!
