DOWN TO EARTH BEER

THE FARM THAT BECAME A BREWERY

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is an award-winning, independent Australian craft brewery based on a family-owned farm in Jindong, Western Australia. We produce nationally distributed craft beer and are recognised across the Australian brewing industry for both beer quality and sustainability leadership.

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is recognised as one of Australia’s leading independent breweries, including being named Champion Large Brewery at the Perth Royal Beer Awards.

Founded in 2015, Rocky Ridge Brewing Co has grown from a small regional brewery into a nationally distributed craft beer producer, supplying retailers and venues across Australia while remaining proudly family-owned and independent.

Here at Rocky Ridge, we take a couple of things seriously: making F*&^ing good beer and not messing with the planet. From humble beginnings on our farm, we’ve built a thriving, community-focused brewery with a simple aim — to brew exceptional craft beer using high-quality local produce, farmed responsibly and with the lowest possible environmental impact.

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is Australia’s first Certified Sustainable Brewery and is committed to achieving net zero emissions from the brewing process by 2025.

Our farm and brewery take their name from a natural ironstone outcrop that runs through the centre of the property — “Rocky Ridge” reflects both our landscape and the challenging, rewarding path we’ve taken to build an independent Australian brewery.

We acknowledge the Wadandi People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

PEOPLE

FAMILY OWNED, PEOPLE POWERED, COMMUNITY MINDED

We’re proud to be a small, independent, family-owned business. Our founders, Hamish Coates, Mel Holland, and Colin Coates, have stayed true to this vision for the entire life of Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.

Our Head Brewer, Ross Terlick, leads our brewing team with expertise and passion, overseeing recipe development, production, and quality control to ensure every beer meets our award-winning standards.

With no outside investment or intervention, all business decisions are made based on what’s best for our staff, our brewery, and the future of our planet. This means when it comes to doing the right thing, there are no shareholders or investors to answer to — we can just do it.

We are 100% independent, 100% family-owned, and 100% of arguments are won by Ace — the dog!

PLANET

Did ‘Green Brewing’ just become a thing?

At Rocky Ridge Brewing Co, our environmental footprint is our responsibility. We are committed to producing world-class craft beer in a way that protects the planet.

We are proud to be Australia’s first brewery to achieve both Certified Sustainable Operation status and full Carbon Neutral certification, covering all Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

Over the past three years, we have reduced our carbon footprint per litre of beer produced by 30%, and we are on track to achieve Net Zero Direct Emissions by 2026.

Our sustainability mission goes beyond certification. We invest in our people through education, and in advanced equipment and processes to continuously reduce energy, water, and waste, while maintaining the quality and consistency of our award-winning beers.

At Rocky Ridge, we believe that F*&^ing good beer and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

BEER

F*&^ING GOOD BEER

At Rocky Ridge Brewing Co, we take a couple of things very seriously: making F*&^ing good beer, and protecting the planet.

Our beers are nationally recognised, award-winning, and crafted with both creativity and technical precision. We experiment with ingredients, techniques, and brewing processes to produce beers that are bold, flavourful, and consistently high quality.

Sustainability is core to every brew. Our investments in advanced brewing systems, CO₂ reclaim plants, wastewater recycling, solar and battery power, and a biodigester allow us to make exceptional beer while minimising our environmental impact. These initiatives make Rocky Ridge one of Australia’s most sustainable breweries.

We showcase the best of our region in every beer. Ingredients are sourced from local farmers using regenerative agriculture practices, ensuring both quality and environmental stewardship. From barley to hops, every element is chosen with care to produce world-class craft beer.

And of course, our team is central to everything we do — their expertise, creativity, and passion are what bring every beer to life.

And we think our team is pretty awesome too!

Awards

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is recognised as one of Australia’s most awarded independent craft breweries. Our beers have consistently earned top honours at national and state competitions, reflecting our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Notable achievements include:

• Champion Large Brewery — Perth Royal Beer Awards (2022, 2023, 2024)
• Multiple Champion Beer awards at national and state-level competitions
• Telstra Best of Business Awards (WA) — Promoting Sustainability

These awards celebrate our dedication to producing exceptional craft beer while maintaining a sustainable, independent, family-owned operation. Each medal and recognition reflects the skill of our brewing team and the support of our local community.

WHERE THE F*&^ IS JINDONG?

It’s a question we get asked a lot, put simply, it’s the middle of bloody nowhere.

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is based on a family-owned farm in Jindong, a rural farming region nestled between Busselton and Cowaramup in the Margaret River Wine Region of Western Australia. Our location is remote, peaceful, and perfectly suited for brewing exceptional craft beer.

Jindong was originally settled in 1924 as part of the agricultural group settlement scheme. At that time, the area was known as Lennox before later being divided into the farming regions of Jindong and North Jindong.

Our farm and brewery take their name from a natural ironstone outcrop running through the property — “Rocky Ridge” reflects both the landscape and the resilience required to build an independent Australian brewery.

The traditional custodians of this land are the Wadandi people. We respectfully acknowledge their enduring connection to the lands, waters, and community, and pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past, present, and emerging.
