Meet Son Of Mischief, the second beer in a special series of Imperial releases to celebrate our 9th Birthday. It’s fair to say at Rocky Ridge we like to break free of constraints and bite off an unearthly amount at once, all while brewing as many big bold and bloody delicious beers as possible. Nothing quite embodies that more than a big, bitter West Coast IIPA and a giant mythical wolf swallowing the sun.

In true Rocky Ridge style this beer unleashes a world ending amount of hops with the brew crew throwing in a full litre of Idaho 7 Dynaboost per turn, and in the spirit of experimentation we’ve used a new mix of Krush and Dolcita hops for the very first time. The result is a solar flare of tropical fruit gripped by layers of dankness and a mid-palate bitterness that bites before settling into a long, satisfying finish.

Certified sustainable Pilsner malt from Tolga Farm and wheat malt provide a clean, springboard base for Rakau, Krush Hyperboost, Rakau SubZero Hop Kief, and NZH-109 to let the aroma and flavour run wild. A perfectly balanced citrusy, resin-soaked monster that’s sure to induce mischief.

• Fun Fact: Fenrir, the monstrous wolf son of Loki (the god of mischief), is bound by the gods with magical chains because he’s destined to break free during Ragnarök. When he escapes, legend says he swallows the sun, plunging the world into darkness.
