WA’s South West has one of the most vibrant beer scenes of any region in Australia, home to dozens of breweries and a growing number of crafty venues too.
So we’ve decided to see how the local brewers fare against the best of the rest of the state in a summertime blind tasting.
On the evening of January 13, 2023, you can join us at Rocky Ridge’s TapHouse in Busselton as we pit the best of the South West against the best of the rest (of WA) over three rounds of beers.
In a break from our usual blind tasting events, where we focus on one style across all rounds, this time we’ve decided to break it up into three courses of styles you could view as entree, main and dessert.
Each will feature two beers from the South West, two from their WA peers – so 12 beers in total – with guests invited to score each beer individually. At the end, we’ll tally scores, reveal the 12 beers, and find out who gets bragging rights.
We’ll put on some cleansing nibbles during judging and there will be some snacks as we count up the scores. And, of course, there will be prizes too.
Tickets cost just $45pp, which includes the beers in the tasting and snacks. And there’s a special price of just $25pp for members of The Crafty Pint’s beer club, The Crafty Cabal.
We’ll have special guests along on the night – and will confirm them nearer the date.
