One of our favourite annual releases, this brew is a testament to Indy, our beloved brew dog taken from us too soon.

As with everything at Rocky Ridge, this recipe is ever-evolving, but one constant remains: the use of fresh Shiraz grapes from local vineyards, adding a unique tannin note to finish.

Dusty chocolate and coffee notes sit atop a rich base beer with red berry and vinous undertones.

It’s a beer to be savoured with friends and loved ones by fire.

Ingredients: Water, Malt, Hops, Yeast, Cacao, Coffee, Vanilla, Shiraz Juice

Allergens: Gluten, Cacao, Caffeine

ABV: 12.5%

FEIJOA SOUR

Spritzy and funky, making a hero of the name ingredient, feijoa. The base of this beer was aged in ex-chardonnay barrels with our house culture before secondary fermentation on 250kg of local feijoas that were only cut in half. The local wild yeast that were on the fruit have further added to the complexity of this dangerously easy drinking and nimble brew.

CURTAIN RAISER

Let’s start the show! This Fruit and Nut Stout greets you with a nose of burnt sugar and drunken fruits with a dusty choc overlay. Full and thick mouth-feel, with low carbonation to add viscosity. The spectacle really begins as layers of bitter chocolate and bourbon vanillins play with light nutty tones.

BARREL AGED PILSNER

 Two things we’re obsessed with here at Rocky Ridge are Pilsners and wild yeast-derived funk. This brew was an absolute staff favourite BC (before COVID-19), so naturally we’ve decided to bring it back for another run. Our Core Range Pilsner was side-streamed into ex-Chenin barrels and inoculated with Brettanomyces wild yeast, allowing it to re-ferment for another six months before bottling. The result is a Bretted Lager with bready malt notes, the scent of fresh-cut hay, Brett funk, and high carbonation – everything we absolutely love here at Rocky Ridge.
